I just moved into a new place and the house is a serious mess. Can anyone recommend a good, affordable professional cleaner and carpet cleaner? If anyone knows of a professional cleaner who also does carpets, that would be perfect!

khyron posted a question similar to what I'm asking so I think I have good ideas already, but where in Oakland/Squill would I find a good but not overly expensive dry-cleaner/tailor? I am looking for a shop to slightly shorten straps on a dress and no more than that. I think that tailoring should cost between $30-40 (cheaper would be wonderful).

I am looking for a duct cleaning service--can you recommend someone? I have found the Sears service that does this, but I am skeptical to use them. If you can give me an idea on how much you paid for your service and/or tell me about your experiences with a duct cleaner, I'd appreciate that, too.

My landlord is requiring me to get my apartment's carpet professionally cleaned before I move out. Can anyone recommend a good (and preferably cheap, since I'm a broke grad student) carpet cleaning company?
